John Stuart

John studied Composition and Arranging at Berklee University in Boston and in the last 20 years, John has forged a career writing music for films and cartoons (check out the music for Ginger Meggs, Peter Pan, Winds of Jarrah and much more).

In recent years, John has moved into arranging and production. In the last two years alone, John has been working for Zomba Music, writing a double-CD for double-string orchestra, a CD collection for cartoons, a double-CD for a fifteen-piece big band, as well as recording and producing four albums at Sound Heaven Studios.

John has also been working on arranging and recording three tracks for a 10-piece jazz fusion band as well as finishing up some commercial writing for UK television.

On the gig front, you’ll find John playing congas with the 9-piece salsa band Babalu, on Tuesday nights at the Rose of Australia with Jackie Orszacski or, in his more eclectic moments, playing steel guitar with Rachel Hannon’s Little Big Band.
